This blog will be written in a style of writing I like to call spontaneous; meaning I write what I'm thinking and pay little mind to the structure of the entries. It relies heavily on capturing the racing thoughts in my mind and pays little head to the traditional English structures of writing and organization which at times serve only to limit the endless creativity of our minds. My original intent is for this blog to chronicle my journey from underemployment to the job of my dreams but there is no guarantee of that. Blogs tend to take on a life of their own and the only way to really tell where this will go is to keep writing it.
I guess I should also explain the underemployed part of the title. I'm currently working two part time seasonal jobs at amusement parks. Sounds like a decent gig! Until I remember that I attended college for five years to earn a bachelor of arts in economics, a certificate in the conceptual foundations of medicine, and a minor in music. This harsh reality seems to put everything back into perspective for me. Suddenly these seasonal jobs seem a little less fitting for the situation. I'm hoping that by becoming a one person job application factory, I can get myself the job of my dreams and begin a new chapter of my life (if lives are indeed divided into chapters). Until then I guess I'm just an underemployed insomniac posing as a philosopher.
